The White Monk Tearooms is located
in the unique village of Blanchland in south Northumberland on the River Derwent. The village was originally built by Monks from France in the 12th Century as a monastery, and is now one of the oldest unspoilt villages in England.
The tearooms are situated in the old school, built in 1866, which has been tastefully refurbished to reflect its idyllic setting. There is also a delightful walled garden to spend a sunny day drinking coffee with friends. The menu consists of traditional tea time favourites as well as light lunches, all home made including the jam and chutney.
